Esmé Bengtson (she/her)
President

Esmé is the Development Manager at Decriminalize Sex Work, a national organization that works to end human trafficking and promote public health and safety through the decriminalization of consensual adult prostitution. She relocated to Austin, TX from Iowa/Minnesota in 2021 and began her nonprofit career in development at Girls Empowerment Network. This is her fourth year serving on the board for YNPN (and she still loves it!)

 
Brianna Fleming (she/her)
Vice President of Finance

Brianna (or Bri) is a new and fun-loving Austinite! She moved to Austin from Dallas, and she moved to Texas in 2019. Eager to explore a big city with entertainment, shopping, and good eats, she moved to Texas the day after she graduated from Indiana State University. During her time at ISU, she gained invaluable knowledge and experience that helped her mold her into the person she is today.

Brianna is employed at Central Texas Food Bank as the Child Nutrition Program Manager. She is a fierce advocate for helping underserved and diverse communities receive necessities, including nutrition, healthcare, and housing resources. She has worked in the Child Nutrition realm for five years and has ample experience with CACFP, SFSP, College Hunger, School Pantry, and Weekend Backpack programs!

Jasmine White (she/her)
Vice President of Programming

Jasmine is the Development Director at Sunrise Homeless Navigation Center whose mission is to offer pathways to housing for people experiencing homelessness. She holds a degree in Marketing from Texas State University and discovered her passion for fundraising during an internship with Make-A-Wish. Originally from Austin, Texas (a true unicorn!), Jasmine is grateful for the opportunity to give back to her community through her work at Sunrise. 

Outside of work, you can find her in a yoga class, hiking, enjoying an espresso martini with friends, or relaxing on the couch binge-watching her latest show.

Trinity Surles (she/her)
Vice President of Communications

Trinity is the Social Media Manager at the 15/10 Foundation, an organization dedicated to making shelter dogs with medical and behavioral needs more adoptable. Her journey in the nonprofit sector began at Keep Austin Beautiful as the Communications and Events Coordinator, followed by a role as Social Media Specialist at Austin Pets Alive!, where she discovered her passion for animal welfare. In total, Trinity has over five years of experience leveraging marketing and communications to drive meaningful impact for nonprofits. 

Originally from West Texas, she earned a degree in management and marketing from Texas Tech University. In her free time, she enjoys thrifting, playing outdoors, painting, hanging out with friends, and curling up on the couch with her cat to binge-watch her favorite show.

Rachael Harmel (she/her)
Vice President of Governance

Rachael currently serves on the Benefits and Emergency Services team at the Central Texas Food Bank where she supports a diverse community experiencing food insecurity. She has been fortunate to live internationally and travel the world at a young age, which informed her values of compassion and service. She is passionate about building positive change in her community through personal growth, collaborative initiatives and grassroots movements. She has lived in Austin for over 20 years and holds a degree in Spanish and Anthropology from Austin College. She is delighted to join YNPN Austin as the EDI Governance Chair. In her free time, you can find her immersed in the music scene, supporting live music in Austin, going to obscure music festivals or volunteering for the local community radio station.

Donna Hoang (she/her)
Vice President of Community
Donna is the Grants and Contracts Manager at Any Baby Can, an Austin-based nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families so children can succeed. She also volunteers with Better ATX, supporting their work to provide clothing and essential resources to youth across Austin. Donna holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame and an M.A. in International and Regional Studies from the University of Michigan. Outside of work, she enjoys running, catching movies at the Alamo Drafthouse, trying new local restaurants, and traveling whenever she can. 
Adrienne Brown (she/her)
Programming Chair

Adrienne is the Development and Grants Manager at Helping Hand Home for Children, a residential treatment center and foster care/adoption service for children who have suffered severe abuse. She moved to Austin in 2018 to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a B.A. in Anthropology, a B.A. in Government, and a Certificate in Core Texts and Ideas. Adrienne has six years of experience in the public sector and nonprofit administration, and she is excited to bring that expertise to YNPN. Passionate about nearly everything that she encounters, and always excited to innovate, Adrienne fits right in to Austin's countercultural "weirdness." When not out and about, you can find her with her two cats reading, playing games, or crocheting

Cara Cate (she/her)
At-Large Chair
Accomplished legal professional with a proven track record of managing transactions and contracts with efficiency and close attention to detail, as well as experience reviewing and supporting governance structures. Recognized for strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
 
Cara works at Texas REALTORS and has lived in Austin for 17 years. When she’s not traveling with her partner, she enjoys hiking local trails with their pup and exploring local spots and events around town. She values the opportunity to give back to her community and is happy to be a part of YNPN.
 
Gabby Douthitt (she/her)
Development Chair

Gabby is a Municipal Finance Analyst for Front Line Advisory Group, a program management consultant specializing in capital improvement programs. She graduated from the LBJ School of Public Affairs in 2024 and held a fellowship within the RGK Center for Community Service and Philanthropy during her time there. Since moving to Austin in 2022, Gabby has enjoyed volunteering with a variety of organizations across the environmental, food access, and criminal justice spaces. She is most passionate about convening the public, private, and social sectors for the most efficient allocation of resources and delivery of services.

Gabby grew up in the Texas Panhandle and New Mexico and received degrees in creative writing and economics from Texas Christian University. On the weekends, she can be found hiking, playing tennis, practicing yoga, and hunting for the best tacos in town.

Zoë Morrisey (she/her)
Community Vice Chair

Zoë is the Community Impact Grants Coordinator at the Austin Community Foundation (ACF), where she supports strategic grantmaking efforts to advance lasting change across Central Texas. Prior to joining ACF, she worked in strategic services at DRiWaterstone Human Capital, an executive search and advisory firm serving the nonprofit sector. Zoë earned her BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University. Originally from Napa, California, she spent several years in Washington, DC, before moving to Austin in 2023. Outside of work, you can find her swimming at Barton Springs, enjoying margaritas on a sunny patio, or staying active with all things fitness.

Amanda Fisher (she/her)
Community Vice Chair
Amanda is a Case Manager at the Texas Board of Nursing, where she works to protect and promote the health and welfare of Texans. She holds a master's degree in Human Rights and Social Justice from Arizona State University, with a focus on mental health, identity formation, and generational opportunity within minority populations. 
Her passion for service extends beyond her professional work through volunteering with nonprofit organizations in immigration, child welfare, and mental health. Originally from Kansas, Amanda has called Austin home for over six years and enjoys building meaningful connections within her community. Outside of work, she loves walking her dog, spending time with family and friends, and discovering new local restaurants. 
Abbey Skrzypczak (she/her)
Program Vice Chair
Abbey is the Stewardship Coordinator in Donor Relations at UT Austin and loves being a longhorn! With the true heart of a social worker and a love for nonprofit work, Abbey received her Bachelor's and Master's of Social Work in Indiana before moving to Austin in 2023 to be with her partner. She is so grateful for this opportunity to continue her work in the nonprofit sector in providing the opportunity for nonprofit professionals to grow and connect together! 
 
Being from the Racing Capital of the World, Abbey loves IndyCar racing and travels for races any chance she gets. She is also a proud sourdough mom, a lover of books, live music, and anything outdoors.
